When most people speak about choosing peace instead, they do so as a puppet; their mouths being flapped open and shut by the hand of social conditioning, their words being spoken by the ventriloquism of socialization.
I have weird karma around just missing such incidents, as in, I was ALMOST there. Including 911, the Vegas shootings, a machete rampage in north London and an attempted coup in the Philippines.
I had come to watch this film only to see what the fuss was about. What I wasn’t expecting was to discover a piece of cinema that tapped into some of my own personal grief, and what I also believe to be the collective grief of many other men.
